ECOMMERCE CONSULTANCY. SCREWFIX.DE, GERMANY.

Screwfix had recently opened a fledgling business in Germany; 4 stores and a website. The website wasn't performing to required standards and, as Germany's first introduction to Screwfix, was negatively impacting the brand.  Using growth and conversion rate optimisation strategies, revenues generated from Screwfix.de increased by 250%.

HEAD OF ECOMMERCE, HOBBYCRAFT UK

Hobbycraft had separate brand and transactional websites, neither performing to their potential. As part of a company-wide infrastructure upgrade (to Microsoft Dynamics), Hobbycraft.co.uk was launched as a single multi-channel website with the brands' quirky personality integrated throughout the site. The new site was successfully optimised for Google and online sales increased 400% in the first 6 months after launch. I ran the end-to-end project, design & development specifications & SEO planning and put a team and agencies in place to support the high growth that followed. The brand was also launched onto social media sites with a regular  'Make of the Month' competition - Facebook achieved 60k followers in the first few months with engagement on social channels 5x that of the retail industry average.

In the autumn of 2006, I set up the Digital Marketing team for Future Publishing (UK), recruiting a team of 5 professionals to run marketing campaigns for all Future's magazine websites. Using email marketing, SEO, content marketing, social media, viral campaigns and PPC, our team doubled traffic to the online portfolio in one year.  SEO & Digital Marketing lead on four major web launches (BikeRadar.com, MusicRadar.com, T3.com) and responsible for the company's mobile strategy.

MANAGING DIRECTOR, BECHEEKY.COM

After managing the marketing strategy for BeCheeky.com, the investment board asked me to step up and run the business. Sales were off target with dangerous levels of costs, cashflow and stock and they needed to turn the business around. After a restructure, aggressive cost & debt management, sales increased by 60% and losses reduced by 52% with conversion rate increasing by 150%.  The business was then sold to an indirect competitor, LoveHoney.

CO-FOUNDER & MARKETING DIRECTOR , 100PRINTS.CO.UK

A private project, 100 Prints is an online photography gallery selling limited edition photographic prints by collectible artists. Built using Shopify, the business also has a Corporate Art Section including an Art Rental Service to keep office, bar and hotel walls fresh and inspiring. I manage the Marketing, Content and Ecommerce aspects of the business whilst our Curation Director 'merchandises' the site, curating eye-catching photography and running exhibitions.
